Dealing with a company that is a member of SHIP means you can count on a couple of vital guarantees. Firstly, you are guaranteed not to lose your home, no matter what may happen to the stock market, interest rates or property prices. There is also a ‘no negative
equity’ guarantee, which means that you will never end up owing more than the value of your home.
To comply with the code, companies must provide clear information on all aspects of the plan including your rights and obligations. It also states that you must have received independent legal advice before taking out a plan.
